It has been four years since the initial implementation: From a static report to the current interactive Registration Analytics dashboard.
The presentation will show case how ECU leverage the Microsoft BI stack and Oracle data warehouse tools to present near-real-time registration data
to ECU executives from School Deans, Program Directors, and IPAR executives. In addition to, will show case how the approach used by ECU allows ECU leadership to assess pre-census/census enrollment in an operational environment without having to wait for the "Official" Student Data mart snapshots processing.

The presentation will focus on these topics:

The need for the executive dashboard.

The data collection: Building the historic data prior Fall 2014 and Capturing the daily data since the initial implementation Fall 2014.

The Multi-dimension Model: ECU's approach without the overhead of physical tables and the complexities of a typical data warehouse start schema.

The data processing: Pre-summaries of the data before loading the Multidimensional model. Cross-walking the data to account for academic programs re-alignments.

The presentation layer evolution.

What's Next in ECU Dash-boarding: Using Microsoft updated Tabular Model technologies and the recently release Microsoft PowerBI on-premises capability to quickly prototype and deploy additional dashboards.
