Within the College of Engineering & Technology, we have multiple labs containing equipment dangerous to operate without proper training. Students working on projects often need to use these labs outside of class hours. The issue we had was trying to figure out quickly who has gone through proper safety training to use the equipment and who has authorization to be in the lab. With the combination of Blackboard LMS, SharePoint, an ID printer and security cameras, we have a full Safety enforcement plan in place to keep our students safe and guarantee only authorized students can use the equipment. This presentation will walk you through our Safety procedures and the steps we took to implement this system so you can utilize these tools in your organization as well.
